(93 posts)35. Property damage and violence have often brought about positive change.
Its a rewriting of history to say they havent and I personally take issue with the apologetic or those who make excuses.
There are a number of reasons for this. When the more aggressive elements of movements resort to vandalism, its often well past time for change. Governments at all levels are forced to move on issues of social justice, meaning they lag behind the times. Second, neither vandalism or violence are pretty. Violence leads to state agencies overreacting and the imagery in isnt pretty.

The looting makes those in power (and privileged sypathizers) uncomfortable.
