(131,978 posts)If you go to Nextdoor.com you can search for your own neighborhood (if it's listed). If you sign up with Nextdoor for your neighborhood you can post information or comment on other people's posts on a variety of topics - lost pets, gardening, stop lights, car break-ins, any number of things. I've found it useful for getting rid of unwanted stuff and getting info from the city and the neighborhood association. Where it can sometimes devolve into hostility is when someone posts a topic or a comment that someone else objects to, and sometimes a flame war ensues and the whole topic falls apart. Sometimes it's a racist or sexist or otherwise offensive comment; sometimes it's just obnoxious and officious, like when someone doesn't like it that people park cars in front of their house. Nextdoor isn't moderated so people don't always behave themselves.
