exacerbated in those inclined by distrust of the Trump/Republican government. But this is 100% a medical issue, not a political or social one.

Many companies around the planet are working on vaccines, and eventually one will be approved in the U.S. and released without rational controversy. By then I expect by far most people to be eager to get it and understandably uncomfortable about having to continue unprotected until it's available to them.
