24. and hard to define capacity for a shotgun

I have an old Ithaca 37 that was my grandfather's (old pump shotgun)

I dusted it off a while ago for a visit to my gun nut brother-in-law. He had these weird short little shells and I think we were able to load 9 instead of the usual 5.
