Washington State to? I guess "Columbia" (an early suggested name for the state, because of the river) is completely out.

In another twenty years, when it's politically incorrect to feel anything but extreme comfort about equal marriage, I guess they'll have to tear down a lot more statues of 20th Century leaders who expressed reservations about being gay or lesbian.

Ah, what fun it is to judge 18th Century people by 21st Century standards.
