And their contemptuous, profoundly insulting attitude toward women, as if those who decide on abortion hadn't been contemplating their realities ever since realizing they might be pregnant.

These people are, of course, coming after the "right to privacy"/"right to be left alone by government" that is the basis for all our legal reproductive rights (and many more, like internet freedoms). In the 1960s, when CT passed a law outlawing birth control (yup!), nothing in the constitution explicitly protected even married couples from that government interference, so liberal justices cobbled up, i.e., "inferred," a basis from various parts. No constitutional amendment needed to get rid of all those legal rights, just a reversal by a conservative-dominated court.
