...there was a SDNY ruling a while back that the the president can remove a U.S Attorney 'regardless of the nature of appointment,' U.S. vs. Solomon (sp), so...

Anyway, we just impeached him, so I'd say ' no pushback' is on Senate republicans. Enforcing subpoenas by Congress isn't governed by solid laws, creating room for stalling until after election time, that's the main reason they weren't effected by Democrats in Congress.
