You know your rally is a bust when ... [View all]

… the most awe-inspiring part of the evening is being reassured that the “pResident” actually CAN drink a glass of water using just one hand. (Well, sometimes anyway.)

If only they’d installed a ramp onstage, hosed it down, slathered it with Crisco, and had Trump run up and down it a few times, it could have served as a much-needed distraction from his actual sputterings – e.g. slowing down Covid testing because the numbers would make him look bad.

Trump is a self-toppling monument to himself – and now he’s fallen, and he can’t get up.

In the past few months, his numbers have plummeted every time he’s opened his mouth. Tonight’s debacle was just another example thereof – but this time on a much larger scale. The big “campaign comeback tour” kick-off turned out to be attended by a small fraction of the predicted numbers, and supplied a treasure trove of quotes that will no doubt show up in Democratic/Biden ads within hours.

To watch Trump destroyed by anyone would be a joy. Watching him destroy himself – and the GOP with him – is beyond delicious.
