21. It depends on when he would resign. Just to be clear Trump would not resign.

If a candidate has not received the nomination I believe it would still be decided by the delegates at the National Convention. They would be mostly Trump delegates making that decision. Until the Convention is held the paperwork for placing that person on the ballot in each state has not been completed.

If Trump has received the nomination at the Convention that would be a different scenario.
