Anyone up for a Republican voting for Biden story? [View all]
My boss and I have had lively political discussions for over 10 years. He's a life long conservative and I'm a life long progressive. Our conversations have always been respectful and never rancorous, but certainly challenged the other's positions. He's the kind of person you want to have a political debate with because he makes you think.
I knew he did not like Trump, but he never disclosed for whom he voted in 2016 until just a few moments ago.
When I told him I knew several Republicans who were either going to vote for Biden or refrain from voting altogether, he admitted he voted for Gary Johnson because he could not bring himself to vote for either Trump or Clinton and figured Clinton had it in the bag anyway.
His words, "that probably wasn't the best decision then, but it is absolutely out of the question in 2020. I never thought I'd hear myself say I'd vote for a Democrat, and I have problems with Biden, but he's the only choice. This is not the election to abstain or cast a protest vote."
I'll. Be. Damned.
