My impression was that her positions have been rather fluid, depending on the situation and times. But she's apparently been at least mostly liberal socially for a long time; and ultimately, when the Republican Party went whacko far right she declined to go along. I'm glad I don't have to vote for one of them, but she is what she really is.
Btw, the Democratic house caucus has 27 blue dogs now out of 235 total. Perspective. Also, state reps tend to vote together, and NY averages blue. No big deal for NY or the nation or even the party if she's elected. The system won't let single reps do much harm, except potentially at home. And that'd be that district's problem to deal with.
