Goodhearted people, mostly focused as usual on their own lives, also now understand the need that finally drove the single most persecuted minority in our nation to cry out and try to make everyone hear: "Black lives MATTER!"

Thoughtful people also realize that, although the desperate call for help initially focused on black lives, the achievements of this movement inevitably advance equality for all Americans.

As for the others, they actually lost their bitter war before they got going and have had to live whole lifetimes of loss after loss, including many in this century. No one should ever have expected them to be good losers.
