Due to the damage to their organs like lungs. Many people in Hong Kong that survived SARS ended up dying within 5-10 years. If 5% of the cases are severe, that means 10 million people (to get to herd immunity) would have shorten their lives due to COVID-19 even if they don't outright die from it right now.
I hate that the media hasn't spoken about this long term impact.
