the military almost always gets used in (some) political sense .. I think that's just part of the bag .. the difference with Trump is .. well, that a lot of it just seems so inchoate and incoherent .. do we actually have a articulate foreign policy? .. our obvious disdain and contempt for any type of treaty or accord .. and then the troubling question as to who and what are "allies" are (if in fact we have any) in our current incarnation.
It's all pretty muddled .. and if I was wearing the uniform right now, I honestly can't say what my thoughts might be.
