She has been running a fever for the past 2 days and she started dialysis about 2 weeks ago. She had some post surgery pain in the port put into her neck and they think it may have gotten infected.
They are also testing for covid19. The household has been on self quarantine since March because my sister, my daughter and I are high risk but with grocery shopping and her Drs appointments, who knows.
Waiting for results on that.
Extremely worried right now and I can't even visit her.
Please send positive vibes. I'll keep you all in the loop.
Update 1: As of 9:30pm my sister is still waiting for a room to become available. She is trying to rest as well as she can in the emergency room. She had dialysis done there at the hospital and a blood clot was found by the machine during. I guess it's the one positive thing about going to the hospital. She didn't have any symptoms of a clot.
Update 2: Not a lot of new information. They are still running tests but she got a room and got some sleep. They are talking about maybe sending her home tonight if fever gone and no other issues (a big maybe). The blood clot it seems could have been from the dialysis itself as clots can form during the procedure (scary in itself).
Update 3: My sister is coming home this afternoon after dialysis. Turns out she has a bad kidney infection and will be on antibiotics. Some additional tests are pending but I'm glad she will be home. A hospital isn't the safest place right now with the rise in covid19 cases in our county.
P.S. Although I'm trying to respond to each of you in person, if I miss anyone, my love and appreciation is still there. Thank you.
