(113,279 posts)and virus-induced sporadic hypertension (never hypertensive before), intermittent nausea secondary to the migraines and contnued fatigue. Yes, this many weeks later. Migraines not responding to medication. She is desperately worried about not being able to go back to work.
Six other ER nurse colleagues from her hospital have become ill as well. Two developed COVID pneumonia and had to be intubated on ventilators. Fortunately they survived, but have chronic lung disease now. This at a leading Atlanta hospital where all precautions are taken, but like others, N95 masks were cautiously reused due to shortages.
I also have a HCW colleague with whom I went to school years ago and who I was informed over the weekend had died of of COVID. While we'd not stayed in touch, it still got to me...
I come here to vent because I am angry a good bit of the time and don't want to share that with friends/family/colleagues.
