3. The police normally get very little firearms training, according to the trainers.

Maybe a week at the academy, 1-2 days a year for annual qualifications.
Departments do not want to spend the money.
Only a small percentage of cops will spend their own time and money on gun training and practice.

Most likely any deescalation training gets noticeably less training time, if any.
