(36,421 posts)89. I'm in Australia, and I know two people who got it...
My cousin and her partner. They live up past Cairns in the Daintree, but they were in New Orleans on a vacation around March and noticed that bars were starting to close, and started to get a bit worried. He got a call from a friend who worked in DFAT telling them to get home ASAP before the borders closed, and they flew home and went into self-isolation, despite my elderly aunty insisting it was fine for her to go have dinner with them (thank goodness they said no!). On day four he woke up with a sore throat and a headache, and they were both diagnosed with coronavirus....
Apart from that case imported from the US, I don't know anyone who's got it and I hope it stays that way...

I have lots of people in Arizona , Tx. and Nv., and am in Oregon and I do not know anyone.

My 93 year old neighbor died a month ago. She actually recovered, then suddenly died.

Several a neighbor, relation, a guy who umpired my sons little league games who died.

I'm from NNJ/NYC suburbs.. I know 8 people that died, and I know at least 55 who have had it.
