90. I hope your mum and dad get through it...

You've described a nightmare scenario for me as my parents are the same age as yours. My mum's in aged care and has underlying health issues, and my dad's in independent living, but with major underlying health issues. Mum's nursing home has been in lockdown since early March, and it's a struggle to even get my dad in to visit her every day. I can't imagine what it'd be like if there were positive cases in the nursing home. It's really hard with dementia as well. Until the pandemic, we always made sure a family member was with mum as much as possible to make sure she was being looked after properly (some lazy staff as well as a lack of resourcing), but when the lockdown happened none of us were allowed in, which really upset my dad...

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for your mum and dad. My cousin was asymptomatic and I've heard of older people who pull through fine with no symptoms...
