the Medical Association of Georgia.

GSMA is basically a society of Black physicians. While many participate with the larger MAG, there was, and still is to some degree, a long history of racism among white physicians. In fact, for many years MAG wouldn’t even accept Blacks as members. When that changed, MAG still often failed to care about Black physicians’ needs.

Income has something to do with it, in that Black physicians are much more supportive of Medicare and universal coverage, even though their incomes would likely be less. But for racist, white docs it’s income and not wanting to be told who to treat, etc.

In any event, I think we pretty much support the same things
