My 95 year old mother succumbed to covid-19 this morning. [View all]

Her husband of 71 years is also positive and quarantined.
She died alone and probably terrified for the. Past 7 days
While I am devastated I'm also angry. Angry at those that failed to act in a timely fashion that surely would have saved many lives. And I am especially angry with those who doubt the seriousness of this virus.
For those who say the numbers are inflated... not for me. For those that think old people are expendable, she wasn't for me and the 6 generations she was the matriarch of.. And for those who feel their rights and freedom are compromised by wearing a mask in public, a very special Fuck you.
