My 95 year old mother succumbed to covid-19 this morning.

59. This is heartbreaking news.

So very sorry for your loss jaysunb. I understand your grief. My 93 year old mother is in an assisted living center here in Albuquerque. Thus far, the facility has been Covid free. I pray that it stays that way. Like your mother, mine means everything to her kids and grand kids. We have google chats every week but that is it. My mom is not computer savvy at all, and is dependent on others to assist her to call us. We are very scared for her. Unfortunately, none of her 3 daughters can visit her as we are all considered "high risk" because of our age. Even if we could, no visitors are allowed into the facility. I share your intense anger at those who failed to act when so many lives could have been saved.
