(964 posts)The Election Division uses Drop boxes exclusively for ballot drop off, collects the ballots, and takes them directly to the Election Division offices for counting. You will usually find them in front of libraries, rec centers, fire stations, etc. If you check your local election division website you will find a complete listing of 24/7 drop boxes, as well as Voter Services and Polling Center locations to assist you in casting your ballot.
The USPS has had its mailboxes for a long time and allows you to put any type of mail with appropriate postage into the mailboxes. It then sorts and delivers the mail to its correct destination. Yes, you can mail your ballot back to the Elections Division but the USPS has to sort all of the mail and then deliver them to their destination.
The Election Division drop boxes are exclusively for ballots and ballots go directly back to the Elections Division office to be counted.
I am very angry that Trump's criminal enterprise is attempting to shut down the USPS. His actions will hurt millions of people who rely on the USPS for their needs. Please contact your local Elections Division office and find out how the system in place at your location operates. We need EVERYONE to vote this monster and his cabal out of office.
