122° that day.
Given that was 40+ years ago, I'm believing 130.
I'm not getting the refrigerant thing though. On an air conditioner compressor, the high temperature side runs 150-155°F. So, even at 130, the delta T is still over 10°C.
The air conditioner won't work as well, of course, but 130 shouldn't be too hot for functionality.
The danger temperature for coolants (starts damaging seals & bearings) is 10-15°F above the boiling point of water.
