where they have several hours a week sitting in a studio (or at home in front of their computer) in full makeup talking into a camera and then spend the rest of their waking hours preparing to spend their time in a studio in full makeup talking into a camera.
Society has become so impressed by and attached to the celebrity journalist-with-a-show-named-after-them culture that people now believe that sitting in a host chair is the end-all-and-be-all of journalism and unless a reporter is given such a spot, they are somehow being treated badly.
