85. Well THIS ought to scare you: I have met a significant number of physicians over

the course of my career who are dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to anything other than their particular area of medical specialization.

An ophthalmologist, for instance, took his cat's amoxicillin suspension home and was putting the drops into the cat's eye. You know - THE PINK STUFF THAT SMELLS LIKE BUBBLE GUM because the taste needs to be masked when you give it BY MOUTH? And he's an OPHTHALMOLOGIST. He figured that, since the cat had an eye problem, and we sent a medication home, that it was supposed to go into the eye. Nevermind that we have a pretty cardinal rule in ophthalmology that if it isn't clear, it doesn't go into an eye EVER.

I've got more stories of stoopit physicians and nurses and pharmacists than you'd ever believe. The other professional schools get all the vet school rejects is all I can figure........
