most of the US intelligence community should have known about it.

Rumor/Conspiracy Theory from China - there was a big international event in Wuhan back in October of last year that was attended by several hundred Americans and hundreds from other countries as well. In China, many think that the rough flu season in the US from last year was really misdiagnosed coronavirus/covid-19 and that Americans brought it into China and Wuhan with them in October.
