Mitch’s position after the Election is complicated by two things:

Mark Kelly of AZ., who will probably win his election, can be seated as early as Nov. 30.

The new Congress is seated on Jan.3, not Jan. 20.

These factors cut down the margin of his majority and also shorten the time to get someone seated.
