In reply to the discussion: I was wrong about Vice President Biden. [View all]Karadeniz
(24,717 posts)Perfect to me. But my stated preference was Biden. I stated then that this country was raw and bleeding from the unending hatefulness, the lies, the corruption. Biden was the best prescription to our illness. Of course, things have played out much worse... protests for justice, assault on civilians, bribing Ukraine, a corrupt DoJ, Covid. No one could have foreseen how desperately we'd need a seasoned politician, a large soul, compassion, empathy, willing to listen to his more progressive opponents, of an admirable character that sensible Republicans can appreciate...thanks to all the Republican groups getting out the message that Biden is better than Trump. Biden has a universal appeal that Sanders or Warren or Buttigieg or Bloomberg or Bevo wouldn't have had. Biden has primaried before. It seems like it was meant to be that he was still available at this moment in time when everything about him is what the country needs.
