I know if my oxygen level goes into the eighties and if I don't stop and focus on my breathing, I can reach a point where I could end up in the hospital. It can all happen so fast and the thought of ending up in the hospital again is motivation enough for me to monitor my oxygen. One time a couple years ago, I lost consciousness and woke up three days later in the ICU. Fortunately, I'd called 911 first, though I have no memory of it.
I can manage this for the most part and the oximeter has been an important tool in that process.

Do you have one of those finger things that measure O2? You should be able to have one delivered...

Funny you say that...that was my fear too. My brother actually drowned when I was 11...

Oh dear...he did in fact drown..wasn't breathing but was revived by my Mother and a young life
