97. I voted today

I was going to wait and vote on election day. Circumstances put in doubt if I would be home to vote and I wanted to make sure I voted. The wait was 1 hour and the line never let up. social distancing and masks were a requirement inside. I only saw 4 people not wearing a mask while waiting in line.

For school board, I googled all the names to help me decide, as it is non-partisan. There was one candidate that I told family and friends to not vote for, I'll call her the mean girl. She has won conservative awards and stuff. Articles about her try to spin that she is doing a great service being on the board, when in fact all she does is deride other board members and cause problems. She claims she is the victim. Lo and behold, she comes up and tries to introduce herself, sans mask. I backed right the fuck up and gave her the stink eye.

I turned my head and she made a beeline to the maskholes, skipping the 6 or so African Americans in line behind us. She got right up to them, no social distancing and had a rousing conversation with them. Someone will get Covid before election day. I smiled.

The mood inside was jovial. The poll workers were pleasant, and joking around with the guy that was in front of us, then us. If not for Covidtrump, we could have had a great time while waiting in line. By the time we voted the maskholes were inside the mood was definitely gone.
