(24,246 posts)As they say, all you need is two people in the room that want the item badly. It's the job of the auction house to have the mailing list that will put those two people or more into the room. I live in a small town, which makes it more difficult, so I'm trying to make two or more antique dealers those "people in the room". We'll see how it works out. I sold cars for awhile, so I'm a pretty good negotiator, and as an avid Rolling Stone fan for at least off and on for 50 years, I can play the expert as well as they can.
The other point in my favor is I don't really need the money and can easily keep them instead. I do thank you for the info on what you got for yours. That's good information to have in my toolbox. You say it was a briefcase, how many issues? 10-20? Did the briefcase itself have any value?
