Biden has spoken of the k, not v, shaped recovery. Even people fortunate enough to be in the upper branch of the k likely see people in their town struggling as restaurants and other small businesses struggle. Even in states that have done better, main street this year was not the lively place it was the year before.

Consider Trump gained some non college educated white males who thought the Obama economy was poor - even though a graph would show that he kept the economy from going off the cliff and had a steady eight year recovery.

How will those same people respond if he does a victory round on the economy today? They are very likely in the lower branch of the k.
