This site was rather further away than my usual one. I didn't make my first try bc one bus stop it was around 4+PM (rush hour) only had the Limited Stop bus which was too far to walk to site. When I got the Local stop the street was under construction so no stop I could get the local bus.
So set my sights for Sat.
I decided to vote in person bc I was afraid that my signature these last bunch of years doesn't match what's been on record in the paper books they use (used to? they may have switched to the electronic stuff with names and addresses last year, and a tablet that I had to sign - but I can't quite remember) on Election Day.
I had my absentee ballot filled out, and in evelope just in case there was some unforeseen reason I couldn't stay. They asked to see ID (NYC) - cause I think I mentioned the worry about the signature. I have NYS non-drivers State ID. Showed them that, signed the tablet, and got my ballot.
Went to voting station. They handed each person a "Vote Pen". Got the 'I Voted Early' Sticker, and they even gave us a "I Voted Early" wristband. Everything was well spaced out. People were helpful. Definitely pumped my fist once I got outside.... "Yes!!!". 😁 Took some selfies though phone wasn't quite far enough away to catch the sticker.
I did one w "V" for Victory! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
NYS is relatively new to Early Voting. My first time, so it feels a little odd knowing there are 3 days left.
I also kind of miss the ole big voting machines with the curtains, the pull level into voting position, the little click into place levels, but most of all the satisfying 'chunk' sound when you moved the level back to record your vote! 😁
Now I have to see if I can do any voter calling over next 3 days.
