15. I know we can't have a poll tax

But some countries add a fee to income taxes for not voting, or so I was told around 2000. An Aussie told me it was $125 if you don't vote.

Courts might rule it a poll tax. But couldn't we refuse to issue tax refunds if you don't vote? The amount would vary, so it's not a fee.

Of course, would we be any better off if 100,000,000 voters who don't pay attention to issues are forced to make a voting decision based on political advertising?

Democracy is not for the ignorant, but we've tried hard to make it so.
