(1,448 posts)have solved this problem by renting a mailbox from an agent and using the agent's physical address. To find companies that do that, search these terms:
the town and state you want for your residence, rent mail-box physical-address. Check the customer comments before signing up with a company. I know that this works because I have done it for 7 years. When I moved to SD, I got my Rapid City residential address first, through my agent. With that receipt and my passport, I opened a bank account and got a cell phone. With all of those receipts, I got a SD drivers license. I took all of those documents to the voter registrar and got registered. All of that was done in 1 day. My cost: $120 a year to the mailbox company and about $200 a year for forwarding my mail once a month. If you live nearby, you can pick up your mail personally for free.
