(405 posts)To understand how to fix this, maybe we should look to how the Nazi Party was dismantled in 1945.
First off, Adolf killed himself and Eva -- so he was immediately out of the picture. The analogy with Trump is to charge and convict him and his kids of enough crimes that he will spend the rest of his life in jail, and they will be out of the picture for at least 10+ years.
Secondly, all the major Generals and high level criminals of the Nazi Party were prosecuted at Nuremberg. This needs to happen with the Trump appointees. If any are found guilty of treason, well, you know how that goes.
We have to make examples of these top goons. Without penalties, there is no deterrent to similar acts in the future.
Then, start on reconstruction. We may not have bombed out cities, but we do have an economy and infrastructure in shambles. We have many coal miners, ex-farmers, and ex-manufacturing people who need to be retrained into long-term jobs. Infrastructure construction. Civil Engineering. Alternate energy industry. Robotics. Health care (LPNs/RNs, geriatric specialties, pre-natal wellness, addiction counseling). I don't think we need to fund more IT, blogger, or AI specialists.
The rest of the knuckle-draggers who don't want to progress with the rest of the country have to be left behind. But since a lot of these people dislike masks, eating properly, and avoiding cigarettes, I guess we'll just have to let them extinguish themselves.
