ticket from someone who couldn't go. As it turned out, my own mother said it was bought from "a student chap" and my research leads me to believe it was a cousin of his from up the country, who stayed with them for a few days before the ship was to arrive at Queenstown. I think he got sick, and couldn't go, so my great grandmother spotted the opportunity to pack him off to America and bought the ticket.
