5. That's A Culprit, Per IDPH

Early in this surge, the Illinois Department of Public Health did an outbreak analysis.
Suspecting school reopenings would he a major lever, they were surprised to find that not to be case.
Bars, restaurants (not following the 50% rule) and "COVID fatigue" were the primary factors.
The latter was defined as large private gatherings of people escaping COVID. Parties of 40, or 60, or a hundred.
Drinking, no masks, all in a couple yards
Northwest Illinois blew up over about 10 such parties. So did the county I live in, & the one directly south.
They're not "going out to the bars", but they might as well have.
But, absent an objecting neighbor calling the cops, there's little to stop them.
Then hundreds get infected.
Those parties can't just be happening in Illinois!
