55. Good. Every home needs at least one cat.

In most cases, the cat will perch on your lap on a frequent basis. You'll pet that cat, either intentionally or absent-mindedly. That will lower your blood pressure, so cats are healthy to have around.

Dogs and cats get along just fine in houses where both are resident. I suggest that they get a kitten. Dogs like kittens. People like kittens. Kittens like every warm-blooded animal larger than themselves.
