(1,725 posts)I started taking care of them when my wonderful elderly neighbor became ill, then passed away. She had them all TNR'd and given shots, cost her a fortune, just before her health declined. Her fantastic son came by every day to feed them and freshen their water. I'm a dog person - two girls - but I've watched those cats run the street for a few years
so I offered to take over. They are now "mine" (HAH!) and I love 'em dearly, but clipping their claws scares the heck outta me. Rip, shred, blood. Three of them only let me pet them when I put their food trays down, and that's it. Besides, they live on my porch (in 2-story insulated cat houses) but they need their claws for protection.
If I could clip their claws, I'd play with them more, since they love to swipe!
