What you consider being them being rational, is nothing more than the psychopath shining you on. They give less than zero fucks if they dont get what they want from someone.
They will tell you that you are completely right just to convince you that they are on the same page as you. Then promptly do something completely different because to them, your view is not their view. And they are always right.
You can not think of a psychopath as someone that thinks like normal people. Its very primal in many ways and everything they do feeds the super ego.
