23. Yeah, this is what worries me in the next 35 days

I spent time in the military and in military intelligence. (Yes, I know, oxymoron). I could tell you all the bad ways an evil President, enabled by just a few like type whackos in the military, could create Havoc on a scale most people could not even imagine in their worst nightmare. But instead, let me tell you about my core belief and understanding of the great folks I encountered in and working with the military, at all ranks and stations. They are not stupid. They are not robots. They will not just follow ANY order. Even from the CINC. At their core, they hold the safety and peace of the American people most dear. They would give THEIR lives for it. At this point, a desperate Trump, ordering a nuclear strike on anybody that hasn't launched nukes on us, verified three ways from Sunday, the order will be ignored. Even a strike on Iran, again unless they are so stupid as to be highly provocative in these few weeks, will similarly be highly questioned and likely ignored. These last few weeks are incredibly awkward and uncertain with Trump still technically at the helm, but I have faith in the system. At some point, in this complex a world, we have to trust others to do the right thing. Better times are coming...a vaccine! Biden! Spring! Parties not by Zoom and no masks!

Little kids will be reading about this in their history books kskiska Dec 2020 #1
