108. Yes the Union lobbied against NAFTA and wanted tariffs on illegally dumped steel for

decades. "W" promised he would stop the steel dumping and did put tariffs on then immediately started giving waivers on
everything until they were useless. In October 2008 the great recession hit. I will never forget the Union had a meeting and told
us nearly all our customers canceled their orders. All we had left was filling the orders already on the books. Just before Christmas
of 2008 the company notified us they would permanently shut down on March 31, 2009. Obama was president on March 31, 2009. So
now after all the misinformation from Fox News and Republicans most steelworkers think it was Obama that closed the plant.
I think the industry was too far gone for Trump's tariffs to help. That pretty much is the reason why we lost the rust belt
states in 2016, the Republicans had completed their war on unions started in 1980 and convinced people it was the Democrats that did it.
