28. I still believe the whole end times schtick is just another part of the scam.

It’s an excuse to not be careful in our stewardship of the planet because “Jesus is returning and we will be going to heaven.” It’s a threat “Do as we say or Christ will come and disembowel you with all the other followers of Evil J. Transylvania*.” It reassures the “faithful” that people who disagree with their sideshow barker of choice will get theirs.

Like so much else in GOP land it is a massive projection. It’s coming because we want to bring it about, regardless of Christ’s involvement.
