(81,515 posts)47. When they start to display psychotic features, yes there are meds for that.
And patients respond well usually.
But with just baseline personality disorders, they are making some progress now with med cocktails
and newer meds. But typically the PDs don't respond as well as other disorders to meds.
However Trump is now displaying psychotic disorders, paranoia and delusional.
Also obviously mood disorders, manic and depressed.
There are very good meds for these symptoms.
But it would take awhile to stabilize him.
Also he is addicted to adderall, and he would have to de-tox first.
I cannot imagine anyone wanting to treat him outpatient at this point.
He needs to go inpatient.

Right, but an evaluator would talk to the family and advise inpatient for stabilization.
