16. McConnell doesn't let stuff come to a vote. Ever.

He does this to cover for the 20% or so of Republicans who live in shitty uber rural states who don't ever want to pass anything or even have to be on record voting for stuff or not voting for stuff. The United States is deeply purple. Senators in red states with populations are going to be very, very, tasked to actually vote for stuff. If, and I mean if, this is allowed to a vote, it will absolutely pass and there will be no filibuster because no Senator is going to stand there and speak for X hours to stop a vote that will pass anyway.

The filibuster is broken because it's virtual, they say "I declare a filibuster" and it's accepted as the reality. Endless pauses in action so nothing ever gets done. There's no more "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" where you read out the Yellow pages or read from the Bible to keep speaking and stop a vote from occurring. Rand Paul may try some shit but he'll have to sleep eventually. He can't stay awake 5 days.
