It forces the GOP to pick their poison soon.
Impeachment doesn't stop them from invoking the 25th amendment.
Impeachment doesn't stop Trump from resigning like Nixon did.
Americans need the truth. An impeachment trial will probably not succeed but it will help bring out the truth.
