That leaves him less focus to burn things to the ground on his way out.

The Speaker, I think, recognizes that Tuesday was essentially a mob hit ordered by a mob boss wanna-be and that at the same time, the same people who were targeted (Pence in particular) will not act appropriately. Speculatorily, the calculation is whether this will be enough to steer Two Scoops into nonproductive rage tweeting (give him a fake phone and tell him he's tweeting anyway) instead of focusing his easily-distracted excuse for a mind on causing actual mayhem. Also securing him a place in infamy for being impeached twice
