A blue state, yes, but a very red part of it. 
These people have always been this way. There is no party of McCain moderates that will snap back as soon as Trump is gone. They gritted their teeth to vote for McCain and Romney. Trump is what they've been longing for for years.
Trump is who 60% of them are.
The basket of deplorables is real. If we pretend otherwise, we will only delay the healing process that must take place.
These people need to be shunned. If they committed crimes, they need to be punished.
We can't afford to coddle these people any more, just because they are white. Just because they are our "friends" and relatives.
It has gone too far.
